New website offers add-on feature that simplifies the process of comparing gadget prices
Used to browsing through numerous websites before settling on which phone to buy? Now, a new website offers users that option on one portal. Created by the Indian division of European company Logic Serve, www.compareraja.com allows consumers to compare the prices of gadgets across 30 leading online stores in the country.
For instance, if you are looking to buy a BlackBerry Curve 9200 from
Vijay Sales for R11,490, the portal might draw your attention to the
best price for it. It’s being sold for R10,350 at sulekha.com.
“Research has proved that a major percentage of buyers prefer comparing prices before settling on any deal,” says Prasad Shejale, co-founder of Logic Serve Group and CEO India.
From mobile phones, tablets, laptops and cameras, to camcorders,
watches, perfumes and books, the site catalogues specifications of the
products, video reviews and details of the delivery process.
The USP of the site, however, is an add-on called Compare Raja Genie. “Download the add-on from the website (the option for which appears as a pop-up). And then every time you browse for a certain product on a website listed with us, click on the option that will appear on the top left corner of the screen. It will automatically source the prices from several other websites. It is definitely one of the first of its kind,” he says.
While the website was formally launched last month, the add-on followed after a week. And now, an Android application for the portal has also been introduced.
“The iPhone will be released within the next week. Indian
consumers love comparison shopping, so we’re covering as much of the
market as we can. Our point is just to get the information to the users
at their convenience,” Shejale adds.
